Aalborg CSP places strong focus on R&D activities and continuously walk new paths to create leading-edge technologies. For this purpose, the company partners with knowledge-based companies and institutions and take active part in research projects worldwide. One of these research projects is the “MOSAIC” project.
MOSAIC is a project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program. The aim of the project is to design, manufacture and validate an innovative CSP concept with low implementation costs at the highest plant efficiencies which will reduce the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE).
The new CSP configuration is based on a modular design using a novel high concentration mirror concept. This new CSP modular configuration is based on a fixed hemispheric semi-Fresnel solar field and a high temperature actuated receiver, which follows the concentrated flux by means of a cable driven tracking system.
Aalborg CSP is responsible for the design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of an advanced and innovative high-temperature solar receiver as well as a HTF thermal loop (skid).
On Monday 6. July the equipment designed and manufactured by Aalborg CSP was send from the production to its final destination in Sangüesa. On Wednesday 8. July, the receiver and skid will be lifted to their final position at the top of the central MOSAIC steel tower.
The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 727402.
